If you’re dreaming of an enchanting getaway packed with magic, wonder, and unforgettable memories, look no further than Disneyland Paris.
Located just outside of Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, Europe’s only Disney resort offers something extraordinary for everyone—from die-hard Disney fans reliving their favorite childhood moments to travelers seeking a whimsical escape.
Whether it’s your first-ever Disney adventure or you’re a seasoned park-hopper, this guide will help you plan your visit for an experience that’s not only magical but stress-free.

Getting to Disneyland Paris from Paris
The easiest way to get to Disneyland Paris from central Paris, where you can enjoy romantic moments like picnics by the Seine, is by taking the RER A train to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy Station. It drops you right at the park entrance! If you’re coming straight from the airport, you can use a shuttle bus or arrange private transportation.

By Train
The fastest and most convenient way to reach Disneyland Paris is by train. Take the RER A train to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station, located right at the park entrance.
Trains depart regularly from central Paris, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Cost: Around €7.60 one way.
By Car
If you prefer driving, Disneyland Paris is approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) from central Paris. Follow signs for A4/E50 towards Marne-la-Vallée. Parking is available at the park for €30 per day.
By Shuttle Bus
Several shuttle services operate between Paris and Disneyland, including:
- Disneyland Paris Express: Includes round-trip transportation and park tickets.
- Magic Shuttle: Convenient pickups from major hotels and airports.

When to Visit Disneyland Paris?
If you want smaller crowds and better weather, aim for spring (April–May) or early fall (September–October). Summer is beautiful but very busy, and winter brings holiday magic but shorter park hours—here’s why Paris in winter is underrated. Aim for weekdays and avoid school holidays for smaller crowds!
- Spring (April-June): Mild weather and blooming flowers make this a wonderful time to visit. Plus, the Easter festivities are a treat.
- Summer (July-August): While the sunny weather is perfect for strolling through the parks, this is also the busiest, with peak crowds.
- Fall (September-November): Halloween decor and cooler temperatures make this season a favorite for many.
- Winter (December-March): The holiday season transforms Disneyland Paris into a winter wonderland with dazzling decorations and Christmas-themed parades.
How Many Days?
Plan for at least 2–3 days to experience both parks fully. With two parks side by side, you’ll want enough time for the rides, shows, parades, and to explore at a relaxed pace without feeling rushed.
Vacation Packages
Booking a Disneyland Paris vacation package (hotel + park tickets) through the official website often saves money and unlocks perks like Extra Magic Time. Packages are especially helpful for first-timers!
Tickets and Pricing
Buy Tickets in Advance because prices are higher at the gate. Ticket prices vary depending on the season and day of the week.
We booked the 2-parks 1-day pass with the premier access for both of us and the total price of our trip was $600.54.
Standard Tickets
Disneyland Paris has two parks:
- Disneyland Park (the main park, similar to Magic Kingdom).
- Walt Disney Studios Park (focused on movies and entertainment).
- 1 Park Ticket: Starts at €56 (for low-season dates).
- 2 Parks Ticket: Starts at €76 for a same-day visit to both parks.

Disneyland Paris Parks
Disneyland Park
The heart of Disneyland Paris feels familiar but with a distinct European flair—and a few standout attractions you won’t want to miss.
If you’re combining your Disney visit with sightseeing, don’t miss this guide on when to visit the Eiffel Tower.
Big Thunder Mountain
This version is next-level amazing—it sits on its own island and has underwater tunnels!
Pirates of the Caribbean
Expect unique sword fighting scenes and a slightly darker, more detailed story than the American versions.
Fantasyland Dark Rides
Enjoy classic rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, Snow White, and Pinocchio, all with charming updates that give them a little extra European magic.
Sleeping Beauty Castle
Walk through beautiful storybook scenes inside the castle, plus head downstairs to see the dragon lurking underneath!

Phantom Manor
This Haunted Mansion-style ride has a darker, Wild West twist and ties into the story of Big Thunder Mountain.

Walt Disney Studios Park
The second park is smaller but packed with fun, especially if you’re into Pixar, Marvel, and animation.
Ratatouille: The Adventure
Shrink down to Remy’s size and race through a giant kitchen in this adorable 4D ride.
Inspired by everyone’s favorite culinary rat? You might also love these movies set in France.
Avengers Campus
Meet Marvel superheroes, ride Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, and join the action at Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.

Crush’s Coaster
This spinning roller coaster themed to Finding Nemo is a must—but lines can get long, so ride early!

Disney Premier Access
Is it worth it?
Disney Premier Access lets you skip the regular lines at certain rides for a fee. If you’re visiting during a busy season or want to maximize your time, it can definitely be worth it for popular rides like Big Thunder Mountain or Crush’s Coaster.

Dining
Disneyland Paris has everything from traditional theme park food to unique table-service restaurants. Be sure to make reservations in advance for popular spots like Captain Jack’s (inside Pirates of the Caribbean!) and Bistrot Chez Rémy.

Where to Stay
On-Site Lodging
Staying at a Disney hotel (like Santa Fe, Cheyenne, or the Disneyland Hotel) gives you early park access and easy transportation to and from the parks. Plus, it keeps you fully immersed in the Disney bubble.
Staying in Paris
You can also stay in central Paris and commute by train each day, but it adds about an hour to your travel time. It’s a good option if you want to combine city sightseeing with your Disney trip. We stayed at Hidden Hotel near the Arc de Triomphe on our trip.

Tips for Families
Bringing the little ones? Here’s how to make your visit stress-free:
- Stroller Rentals: Available onsite.
- Rider Switch: Perfect for parents with little ones.
- Character Dining: Dine with Mickey and friends for unforgettable moments.

Other Things to Know
Alcohol
Unlike American Disney parks, alcohol is widely available here—wine, beer, and cocktails are served at many restaurants and cafés inside the parks.
No Need to Know French
Most cast members speak English, and signs and menus are usually in both French and English. A few polite French phrases go a long way, though!
Remember You Aren’t at an American Disney Park
The vibe here is more relaxed—think longer meal times, less urgency in the service, and fewer character interactions while walking around.
Cultural Differences To Be Aware Of
Guests here are used to standing closer together in lines, and dining is generally a slower, more leisurely experience. Go with the flow and embrace the different pace.
What About Maintenance?
Disneyland Paris has made major improvements over the years, but it’s still normal to see a few rides under refurbishment, especially during low seasons.
Visitors with Disabilities
Disneyland Paris offers an Accessibility Card to help visitors with disabilities enjoy the parks more easily. Visit Guest Services early to get set up.

Shopping in the Park
Take Advantage of VAT Refunds for Disneyland Merchandise
If you’re visiting from outside the EU and spend a certain amount, you can claim a VAT refund on your merchandise purchases. Ask about it when checking out at shops!

Why Disneyland Paris Should Be on Your Bucket List
Disneyland Paris isn’t just another theme park—it’s a stunning, artfully crafted celebration of Disney magic infused with European charm.
From the dragon under the castle to the walkable, cohesive park layout, every element invites you to slow down and savor the moment.
Whether you’re racing through Gusteau’s kitchen, marveling at Sleeping Beauty’s stained glass, or sipping wine on Main Street, Disneyland Paris promises unforgettable memories for every visitor.
So pack your walking shoes, charge your camera, and get ready for an enchanting day you’ll remember forever.
Final Advice:
Study the park map ahead of time, wear comfortable shoes (you’ll walk a ton), and if you’re traveling solo or want less stress, staying at an on-site hotel inside the security zone can make your visit feel more seamless.
Most importantly, enjoy the park your way—whether you want to ride everything, sip coffee on Main Street, or just soak in all the Disney magic at a slower pace.
Let the magic begin!
